Ok, let's see how we'll this weekly review goes. Maybe I can actually remember to do it. So here's what I've melted this week.
GKC Goofy Grape -- 1/4 cup on a 25 watt Electric warmer. I didn't let this cure, though I am letting the rest of the cup sit. It was still incredibly strong, I could smell it just sitting next to the warmer that hadn't been on all day. There is a funny story with this one. I was cleaning and knocked the plate off of the warmer. All the wax was melted and poured all down my arm. While it scared me, it didn't hurt a bit. I want to say Granny's is soy, correct me if I'm wrong. That being said all I had to do was wipe it off of my arm with a paper towel.
I like this scent and I'm excited to melt the rest of it.
GKC Bedtime Bath -- 1/4 of a cup on a 25 watt electric warmer. This one was in my bedroom because it seems like a perfect bedroom scent. I didn't give this one time to cure but it was still pleasant in its throw. Very powdery with an undertone of lavender. Kinda like baby's bedtime lotion. I love it.
TCBK Gain -- 1 tart in a 25 watt. I've reviewed this one before. It is very clean but not exactly Gain.
TCBK Lick Me All Over -- 1/2 in a plug in warmer. I love this scent. I had half if a tart in my bathroom and kept thinking I was smelling it in the living room (bathroom is off the hall off the living room). I knew I didn't turn the warmer on and asked my husband if he had. He said he did about an hour before. I was smelling that tart from a room away over 2 other warmers. I love this one.
Orleans Candles Chateau -- 2 cubes in a 25 watt electric warmer. Very ozony. I've reviewed it before. I love it.
Unknown Brand Caribbean Breeze -- handful of beads(?) in a 25 watt electric warmer. I found this at Walmart. The brand is Mary's something or other and such. It's sweet and strong. Not very tropical but I like it. The only bad thing is this wax is HARD and takes forever to to melt.
Wow obviously I haven't melted much this week. Next week will be better I promise. Maybe. I will be out of town for the weekend so I obviously won't be melting anything.
Until later,
Melissa

Another order...already...
I received my first Granny's Kountry Candles on Friday. The customer service and turnaround time were very impressive. Everything I ordered smelled fantastic and it was all very strong. I've been very pleased so far and I'm trying my hardest to allow them to cure. Since I was so impressed I decided to place another order on Saturday. The owner, Wendy I do believe, suggested ordering her soy shots. She sent me several with my order and they're huge. She suggested cutting them in half to melt. They're also a much more economical option as they cost .65 for one or $1 for two as compared to $1.49 for the simmering seedlings. I still spent the $25 to get free shipping which resulted in me getting 38 different scents, 39 tarts because I accidentally doubled up on one. I didn't reorder anything from my first order just because I had so many I wanted to try before I decided on any go-to scents. Now, onto what I ordered, it's a long list.

Granny's Kountry Candles cold throw review
My order from Granny's Kountry Candles came in yesterday. I wasn't home when it came and the weather was looking dicey. When we finally got home I ran up the stairs to our house and snatched up the package. I ran into the house and was slicing it open before my husband even walked in the door. I was throwing packing peanuts at him as he walked in. This time remembered to take a picture of my order. Anywho, lets get on to the reviews.
Bedtime Bath -- it's strong. Lavender and powder. Very relaxing. 4/5 for cold throw.
Booty Call -- perfumey. Romantic. One of my favorites. Like a unisex body spray. 3/5
Cowgirl Up! -- Overly fruity and not in a good way. Too sweet but strong. 4.5/5
Goofy Grape -- spot on grape Popsicle. Very sweet. You can almost taste it. 3/5
Green Apple -- Sour sweet. Smells exactly like a Jolly Rancher. 4/5
Headache Relief -- Eucalyptus. Very much a spa scent. Hope it works. 3.5/5
Hot Baked Apple Pie -- kinda smells like one of those caramel apple lollipops. I don't get pie though. Hubs liked it. 3/5
Sinus Relief -- Vick's VapoRub. I do believe it would work. 3/5
Dirty Mind -- Smells like dirt and leather. The name fits it. 2/5
Stress Relief -- lavender and eucalyptus. Very relaxing and tingly (?) 3.5/5
Arkansas River -- Very aquatic. Kind of soapy. My favorite from this order. Melting a piece already. 3/5
Bushel Basket -- Springy and fruity. I think I'm gonna hold on to this for prettier weather. 2.5/5
Fireflies & Fairies -- Floral and powdery. Powder being the top note. Very pleasant. 3/5
Head in the Clouds -- Florals and laundry detergent. Very clean and sunny smelling. 3.5/5
Love Story -- Fruity and floral. I get apples. Little sister said this was her favorite. Perfect spring scent. 2.5/5
Old Fart -- smells like old people. Bengay and hard candy. 3/5
English Ivy -- green and sophisticated. Nice but I wouldn't purchase it. 4/5
Clothesline Fresh -- smells like Barnes and Noble. I don't really get a laundry scent. 3/5
Coastal Breeze -- Exotic fruits. Not really breezy. 3/5
Brain Fart -- Sweet fruits. It's a lot of mixed fruit. 3/5.
That was my fantastic order. The last four, English Ivy, Clothesline Fresh, Coastal Breeze, Brain Fart and another Tickled Pink were all in very large scallop tarts and were sent as free samples. And they're huge. All of them were great samples and something I probably would have ordered on my own. The rest of my order was definitely taken into account when the samples were sent. I'm gonna try and let them cure a little before I start melting. Hopefully I have the patience.
Until then,
Melissa

Anxiously Awaiting
Yesterday I emailed Granny's Kountry Candles to check on the status of my order, because I'm anxious to receive it and running low on my Kim's Tarts order. The owner so kindly emailed me back and said my order was poured and packed. Yesterday evening I received my UPS tracking information. The tracking info said I should be receiving my package tomorrow. So I've been anxiously refreshing the UPS page all day. I'll be posting tomorrow when I receive my package. Melissa

Granny's Kountry Candles order
I placed my second order with my second vendor yesterday. I had to hide this one from my husband because he claims I have a "problem" and that I can't "control myself". Whatever those things mean. He also told me I should wait until I'm out of my Tart Candles by Kim wax to place another order. Oh well. He doesn't complain when I melt so I don't care.
I ordered 17 "simmering seedlings" which are 2 oz scent shots. With Granny's you get free shipping when you spend $25 and her scent shots are $1.49 a piece. Here's what I ordered...
Bedtime Bath
Booty Call
Cowgirl Up!
Goofy Grape
Green Apple
Headache Relief (I'm hoping this works)
Hot Baked Apple Pie (my husband requested this one)
Sinus Relief (I could use one now)
Stress Relief
Dirty Mind (I only ordered it for the name)
Arkansas River
Bushel Basket
Fireflies & Fairies
Head in the Clouds
Love Story
Old Fart
Tickled Pink
That's my order. I'm excited about this one. I'm also plotting my next orders which will be Haley's Heavenly Scents and CFTKR. Granny's turn around time is about 7-10 business days so I should receive it about the same time frame I received my TCBK order. And this time I wont forget to post a picture of my haul. Later folks, Melissa

What's in your warmer? 2/9/13
Its been quite a lazy day in Ny neck of the woods. I told myself when I woke up this morning thati was going to clean my house and take down my Christmas tree. Yes…its February and my Christmas tree is still standing tall and decorated. There is a reason for that though. My ornament boxes are in the attic and we don't have your typical attic that has fold down stairs. You have to have a ladder to get up there and we do not have a ladder. And so the tree stands. You don't give a shit about that, do you? Lets get on to what's in my warmers today.
Living room -- TCBK Stormwatch. I gave this one a 3/5 on cold throw but it gets a 5/5 for warm throw. It was amazing and it smelled like the air before a big storm. It has been one of my favorites so far. Definitely a repurchase.
Dining room -- TCBK Mid Summer Nights. I don't think ive ever smelled the original of this but I really enjoyed this one. It was pretty powerful. I may or may not repurchase this one. I'm not sure yet.
Kitchen -- TCBK Key Lime Pie. This was one of the sample.tarts that Kim sent me with my order. My husband and I agreed that it had a vomit like smell to it unless you were standing directly over the warmer. Then and only then could you smell lime. I dumped this out as.soon as it melted all the way down.
Bathroom -- half of a tart of TCBK Lick Me All Over. I said in my cold throw review that it smelled like Big League Chew bubble gum and it still smells this way warm but a lot more fruit comes out. The half a tart filled my entire bathroom and lingered all day. I love this one.
Bedroom -- TCBK Southern Man. I turned on the warmer about an hour and a hoar before bed and I never smelled anything. I think I'm going to let the other two tarts cure for about a week before I try to warm them again.
Also I placed my second order with my second vendor today. But that's a whole bother post folks.
What's in your warmers tonight?

What's in you warmer? 2/8/13
I just received my order from Tart Candles by Kim on Wednesday and I've already started to to make a dent in it. When I brought my mom the tarts I bought for her she picked through the rest and took a few of the ones she really liked. Which I was fine with because, if you don't know? When you order from Kim you receive 3 tarts for $1.50. How fabulous is that? My husband and I have already picked a few of our favorites and blacklisted a few scents. Anywho, onto what's in my warmers today. All are from Tart Candles by Kim so I'll only list the scents.
Living room -- Fruit Loops and that is exactly what this smells like and boy was it strong. I put it in the warmer yesterday and it was still incredibly strong when I came home from work this evening. My husband has already declared this as his favorite. It will definitely be a repurchase.
Kitchen -- Butterfly Hugs. Fruity and floral and light. I've declared this as my favorite. It was so feminine and not quite a kitchen scent. I see this as a definite bedroom scent. Repurchase for sure.
Dining room -- Gain. I said in my cold throw review that this wasn't spot on and it's still not warm. Close but not exact. But it is strong. At times I could smell it over the Fruit Loops in the living room. An amazing clean scent. Possible repurchase.
Bathroom -- Pomegranate. This scent has been blacklisted. The spicy note I detected in the cold throw is even stronger when it's warmed. It was terrible. And strong. I'm sure if you like bakery scents it would be ok but I was looking for a fruity pomegranate and I'm honestly disappointed that this isn't as fruity as I hoped. Will not repurchase.
Bedroom -- Twilight Woods. I turned this warmer on about an hour before we went to bed. It was very pleasant. And I do believe it made me sleep better. Woodsy and floral. It's a good bedroom scent.

Side note: I left Kim a note on Facebook about my Macintosh Apple tarts not being in my package. Her response was fabulous. She'll be sending the Macintosh Apple, the two I ordered that she didn't have the oil for, Love and Luck and Nag Champa, as well as an extra scent for the inconvenience. I call this amazing customer service. I was very impressed by thousand very thankful. I'm currently planning my second order. I'm also looking for another highly recommended vendor to try as well. Any suggestions? What's in your warmer tonight?

Tart Candles by Kim haul
I received my very first tart vendor order today. I was so very excited about it. I kept hitting refresh on the Click N Ship tracker thingy. All while neurotically looking out the sliding glass door for the mail lady. When she did come I ran downstairs to get my package and call the dogs off. She asked why the box smelled so good. I told her what was in it while running up the stairs. I only had about 20 until I had to leave for work. I wasn't even all the way in the door before I was ripping the box apart. I didn't even notice until after I checked everything out that the box was damaged in transit. The tarts were fine so no worries there. My unboxing video was filmed in a hurry and I ran off to work with visions of waxiness danced in my heads. And lingered on my hands. My husband texted me while I was at work to tell me that he had smelled everything and he liked them.
Any damn way...here goes my cold throw reviews...
Dragon's Blood -- it's very heady, like being in a head shop. It reminded me of the cab we took when we were in Jamaica in June. It had Bob Marley playing on repeat. This one is for my mom. 4/5 strength for cold throw.
Patchouli -- smells like incense. Reminds me of hippies. It's not exactly like the patchouli my mom used to burn when I was little but it's close. This one is for my mom too. 4/5 for cold throw.
Nag Champa -- Kim left me a note on my invoice that she was waiting on the oil for this so I'll have it next week.
Gain -- not spot on but close. Very soapy, very clean. 3/5
Pomegranate -- through the bag this smells perfect, inside the bag there is something spicy that I hope goes away when I melt it. 4/5
Heavenly -- VS Dream Angels dupe. I don't think I've smelled the original but I get the rose and jasmine. It's very nice, soft and perfumey. 3/5
Mid Summer Nights -- clean, soapy, masculine. I REALLY like this one. 4/5
Twilight Woods -- I'm so glad I accidentally double ordered this one. I love this. I smell the cypress and something floral. Not incredibly strong. A good bedroom scent. 2/5
Shampure Aveda -- I didn't know what to expect with this. All I get is licorice and I don't like it. 4/5 for throw. Though ill probably give this one away.
Montego Bay -- initial smell is earthy, like dirt. Then I get an incense type smell. It's pleasant. 3/5
High Maintenance -- hope it lives up to how strong it's supposed to be because I really like this one. It's fun, fruity and floral. 2/5 cold.
Stormwatch -- rain, definitely. And oceans. Smells like salt water. 3/5
Lick Me All Over -- I smell this in my lap. It smells like Big League Chew. I'm sure the other fruits will come out when warmed. 5/5 very strong.
Pink Sands -- had a Yankee votive on hand. YC smell more like sunscreen. This one is more musky. I prefer this one to the YC one. 4/5
Butterfly Hugs -- I actually almost didn't get this one. I'm glad I did. I think it's my favorite. So floral and sweet. 4/5
Chanel No 5 -- never smelled the original. Very powdery and definitely perfumey. Strong but smells like a fashionable granny. 4/5
Southern Man -- very masculine, a little citrusy. Rugged. I think it's my second favorite. Hope it's stronger when it melts. 3/5
Fruit Loops -- this was my last minute add which I don't regret. Orange and lemon and cereal are on top. My husband texted me at work and told me he ate them all. He approved. 4/5
Abercrombie Fierce -- the scent description is spot on. A more masculine scent. Love it. 4/5.
Kim also left me a note that my Love&Luck would be here next week as well. I'm excited about that and the Nag Champa. Other than that my order for Macintosh Apple was missing buy I did let Kim know on Facebook. She was kind enough though to include 5 sample tarts. Which was fabulous. And unexpected.
Key Lime Pie -- Kim was kind enough to send me 2 tarts in this scent. It's not something I'd purchase on my own. It's nice and I'll surely melt it. I may not repurchase. It was very distinct lime and pie notes. 3/5
Sugar Corn Pudding -- I hate food scents. This is king of nutty and bready. If I melt it I will put it in the kitchen. 3/5
Eternity -- this was actually on the list for my next order. Not overly perfumey. I get lemongrass maybe? 3/5
Pink Sugar -- I love this! I see what the hype is about. Almost like a birds of paradise type scent. 3/5
That's what I got! Yay. I was so happy it came and I'll be placing another order on Friday. Possibly with Kim but I'm plotting orders for other vendors. Haley's Heavenly Scents maybe. Or Granny's Kountey Candles.
Do you like clean scents? If so, what is your favorite? Who is your go-to vendor? What vendor do you know of that has a deal going on now? Any other advice? Let me know what you think of my order and reviews. Unboxing video should be up tomorrow. Do NOT quote me on that though. I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow and that usually ruins my day. Plus I have to work. Blah. Have a good night folks.

What's in your warmer? 2/5/13
I finally switch all my melters out when I got home from work. Everything had been in there for a while so they weren't as strong. My Tart Candles by Kim order will or should be here tomorrow according to my Click N Ship email. I'm so excited. I'm really hoping it gets here in time for me to do an unboxing video before I have to leave for work. Otherwise it will be a cold throw video because I won't be able to control myself.
Anyway, on to what's in my warmers.
Living room -- 2 cubes Scentsy Lotus Cove. As we know this is my go to bedroom scent. I LOVE this scent. It is so soft and comforting.
Kitchen -- my last 2 cubes of BH&G Sugared Melon Kiwi. Super sweet and super fun. I needed a springy pick me up today. I thought they had stopped selling this but our new Super Walmart finally opened and they had the spring scents out and this one was included. Also, we will have a Better Homes and Gardens haul soon because the spring and summer stuff is amazing.
Dining Room -- 2 cubes Scentsy Blueberry Cheesecake. Oh my goodness. Gag. My husband requested this. It is so strong. It's all I can smell and my living/kitchen/dining room is technically one room and the melters are less than 5 feet apart. Anywho. It stinks. I hate bakery scents. Luckily the blueberry is stronger than the cheesecake.
Bathroom -- my last cube of Scentsy Sunlit Morning. Which as far as I know is discontinued. And that makes me sad. I love this scent. It's a laundry scent that is unlike any other. Very sunny smelling.
Both bedrooms -- 2 cubes BH&G Soft Cashmere Amber. My second favorite bedroom scent. I put my last two cubes in my master bedroom. I was on a stash cleaning mission tonight to prepare for my package tomorrow. Even though I plan to replace this and the Sugared Melon Kiwi.
Keep an eye out tomorrow or the next day for my written and video reviews.
I'm so excited to get this order. Later folks.
Melissa

Melissa

Tart Candles by Kim
First let me say I AM NOT affiliated with ANY vendors. These are all for my personal use in my home and for use in converting family and friends from candle lovers to tart lovers.
That being said I placed my first large wax order on Saturday the 26th and I'm very anxiously awaiting its arrival. Anxious is an understatement, I'm checking the mail a few times a day.
After spending a few hours on Kim's site, www.tartcandlesbykim.com, I put together a LONG list of scents I wanted. I love that she has them in categories, as I tend to overlook bakery and food type scents and categories makes that easy. When I placed my order the page was advertising free shipping for orders over 30 dollars. If you've never been to this site, every scent you order is sent in a pack of 3 approx. 1 oz scallop tarts. All for $1.50. That's .50 a tart! How awesome is that? I broke my long list down into 3 separate orders of 21 scents. That's 63 tarts for 33 dollars, all with no shipping.
All of that being said, here's what I ordered. I'll be doing a video when they get here.
Dragon's Blood (for my mom)
Patchouli (for my mom)
Nag Champa (for my mom)
Gain
Macintosh Apple
Pomegranate
Heavenly (VS Dream Angels dupe)
Mid Summer Nights (Yankee? dupe)
Twilight Woods (bbw dupe)
Shampure Aveda
Montego Bay
High Maintenance
Stormwatch
Lick Me All Over
Fierce (Abercrombie dupe)
Love & Luck (Ed Hardy dupe)
Pink Sands (Yankee dupe)
Butterfly Hugs
Chanel No 5 (dupe)
Southern Man (Tim McGraw dupe)
Fruit Loops
Woooo what an order!!! I'm so so so excited to get this and start melting it. As you can see a few were ordered for my mom who I converted from an incense burner to a wax melter over Christmas, so I ordered her some classic incense scents that I know she will love. Some of the cologne/ perfume dupes are gonna be split with my little sister. She's 16 and loves her wax melter. I taught her well.
Anywho keep an eye out for my unboxing video. And a written cold throw review.

Day in Review 2/2/13
It's been so long since I've done a day in review. I'm honestly considering doing a week in review instead. Not sure yet. I don't change my scents VERY often, so most days are the same. So what about today? ONWARD!!!!
Living room -- 2 cubes Better Homes and Garden Enchanted Evening Walk. This is a STRONG scent. I'm torn on whether I like this one or not. It's very spicy and that's what I don't like. The two cubes I have in there were my last 2. I don't think I'll be repurchasing this.
Kitchen -- 2 cubes Scentsy Clean Breeze. I've been hoarding this one from my very first Scentsy purchase. When I opened the clamshell there was a layer of oil on top of the wax. I'm not impressed by this one. It's a nice, clean scent but its like every other clean scent out there.
Dining Room -- 2 cubes Orleans Angel. I love all of my Orleans waxes. If you've read my other posts then you already know that. They are amazing estate scents. And I live in Louisiana so I have a connection with New Orleans. (It's less than an hour away)
Bathroom -- 1 cube ScentSationals Sweet Pea. And it's my last cube of that scent. I'm glad Sweet Pea is pretty easy to find. It's definitely a go-to bathroom scent.
Sister's bedroom -- still has 1 cube of Better Homes and Garden's Soft Cashmere Amber. I love this one. When little sister spends the night she has her melter cranked all the way up the whole time she's here. I've converted her.
Master bedroom -- 2 cubes Scentsy Lotus Cove. Yep it's still there. And it's the same 2 cubes. No joke.
Be on the look out for my first video as soon as my Tart Candles by Kim order comes in. I'm excited!!!

Sorry, sorry folks
I've been absent for quite a while because, well, technology hates me. My laptop ka-puted, my Kindle Fire has seizures when I try to pull up my Blogger account, and honestly, I'm pretty damn lazy.
Regardless of all that hullabaloo, I have been melting, researching, and did a little ordering. I have pulled together a long list of vendors and scoured their sites to see if I would be interested in ordering. What have a learned in my research? I'm part of the minority in the wax community. I CANNOT stand bakery scents. If you've read ANY of my other posts then you already know that.
Anywho, I placed an order with Tart Candles by Kim last Saturday and I'm anxiously awaiting that package. It was a pretty sizable order too. That'll be another post.
Alright folks. Typing this on my iPhone isn't doing anything for me. But I'm back and I'm very happy with the page views I've had. Keep it coming folks.
Melissa.
