Birthday Order No. 1

My birthday is coming. It's on Thursday the 25th and I honestly don't care. I'll be 25 and the only thing that I was excited about was having a legit reason to order wax without my husband picking on me about it. I didn't even tell him that I placed orders...with his debit card...until yesterday. Oh well. Anywho, my first order that I placed on the 15th was with my beloved Granny's Kountry Candles. I needed to get the scoop on scoopables so that was all I ordered. All of these scents are in the 4 oz trial sizes. Here are the scents I ordered... Crunch Berries Pomegranate Pink Sugar Bedtime Bath Tickled Pink Green Apple and Vanilla Bean Noel for my little sister. I'm excited to try the scoopables. I've heard many good things. I know it will be after my birthday before I receive my order but for Wendy, I can wait. Until later, Melissa

5th Granny's Kountry Candles haul

Saturday I received my 5th GKC order. I placed it on her "Forget the Foil Friday" event on March 6th and received it on the 25th. That's a 12 day TAT. But that's to be expected with the sale orders Wendy had coming in. I ordered multiples of a lot of my favorite scents as well as a few singles in scents I wanted to try. My husband's younger sister was here when I was sniffing through to order and she hijacked a few tarts. I'll list the amount of tarts in the review and there will be a -1 with scents she claimed. Wanna know what I ordered? Leggo... Moonlit Path(5-1) -- an amazing dupe of the BBW scent. I switch between using this and Twilight Woods in a shower gel. It is one of my favorites. A Roll in the Hay(5) -- a mouth watering, delicious, fruity scent. This is one of my husband's favorites. It's very strong and you can almost taste it. Stress Relief(5) -- spicy herbal lavender with a hint of Vick's style mint. It's one of my favorite bubble bath and bedtime scents. Bite Me!(5) -- juicy, fruity and delicious. Stronger than A Roll in the Hay, though they are similar. This is one of my top 10 go to scents from GKC. This is also one of my husband's favorites. Kinky Cougar(5-1) -- a sour sweet fruity scent. Lighter than Bite Me! or A Roll in the Hay. I've been burning a Butterball in this scent for the longest time. Wendy's Butterballs are all but bottomless. Arkansas River(5) -- floral and aquatic. Very light and clean. Booty Call(5) -- very cologney and sensual. One of my all time favorites that I confused with Dirty Mind on my last order. I though this scent was called Dirty Mind. Don't ask me why. I cannot stand Dirty Mind and accidentally ordered a clamshell on my last order. Lucky for me my mom loves Dirty Mind. Bear Bottom(5) -- baby powder and herbal lavender. Very light and pleasant. Watermelon Bowl(5) -- a sour watermelon scent. Very tart, almost enough to make you pucker up. Bee's Knees(5-1) -- juicy, fruity with a warm, possibly honey bottom note. Blueberry Pomegranate(3-1) -- juicy pomegranate and tart blueberry. It almost has a bottom bakery note. Cherries Jubilee(1) -- delicious cherry. It smells a lot like a cherry lollipop. Melon Bowl(1) -- I wish I had ordered 5 of these instead of Watermelon Bowl. It smells like a Jolly Rancher. I love it. Tank Tops and Flip Flops(1) -- I'm not a fan. I smell coconut and I HATE coconut. It smells a lot like a piƱa colada. Well, that's my order. In total it was 57 tarts and filled half of my individual tart storage drawer. I let them cure for a month and leave a note on top in case I forget or my husband decides to pick scents for the day. I have one and only one complaint or concern from this order. Every time I shop with GKC I select JDazzler15 as my consultant, her videos were what led me to order from this vendor. It's never failed that I get samples or extras with my order. Sadly on this order I didn't receive anything. All I can assume is that I didn't receive goodies because $10 or my order was paid in gift cards. My order total was $25 and some change with me paying $15 and some change out of pocket. I sound like a whiney bitch. Anywho, I'm going to bed. Hope you enjoy. Side note: for anyone who has followed my blog, could you kindly please tell me how you did so. Where the button was, etc. thanks in advance. That's all folks, Melissa

Grumpy Girl Candles and Bath haul

Yesterday, I received my first order from Grumpy Girl. It was a small order but it WILL NOT be my last one. I love this company. The site is hilarious. The scent names are funny, the scent descriptions are hilarious, every passage of writing is silly and fun. If you've read any of my other reviews you'll know I love fresh and clean scents and that's a lot of what Grumpy Girl offers. So here come the reviews. Leggo...

Porn Star in Pink Panties -- floral and musky, which I love. Citrus on the bottom. I really like this one.

Hot Sexy UPS Dude -- very manly. Very woodsy. You really get the cedar and amber. Vanilla on the bottom lends a slight sweetness. This would make a perfect cologne.

Goth Queen -- very dark and sensual. Very incensey with a little sweetness. This one is not my favorite.

Ghetto Princess -- a great floral blend. Powdery soft and slightly sweet. Perfectly feminine.

Schweddie Balls -- very soapy and manly. Lavender and sandalwood. It's incredibly fresh. I love this one.

Trailer Park Trash -- fresh cut grass with a musky undertone. This scent is lighter than the others but it is still very nice.

Draft Up Your Skirt -- dryer sheets. A perfect laundry scent.

Sister Mary Frances -- fruity, floral and fresh. A powdery base. It's light but I really like it.

Girly Girl -- PINK SUGAR!! Very sweet with a yummy cotton candy. I love it!

Those are the cranky cups, 2 oz scent shot cups, that I ordered. I also ordered a bar of soap.

Soap in Porn Star in Pink Panties -- lighter scent than the wax but it is a perfect soap scent. They are still working with the pink batch (the soap description on the site tells what happened) it would have been amazing to receive the fun multicolored bar but it is still awesome and glittery to boot.

Soap Sample in Fruity Loops -- smells just like Fruit Loops and its cute with its multicolored layers. My husband claimed this one.

That is what I ordered. The packaging was perfect, nothing melted in the 90 degree weather we had yesterday. I'm already plotting another order for both wax and some bath and body products. If you haven't already visited their site head over to www.grumpygirlcandles.com and if you've ordered from them before tell me in the comments what your favorite scent was or which product was your favorite.

Until later folks,
Melissa

I'M BACK, I'M BACK!!!!!

After forgetting my password, a stomach virus or 3, and several doctor visits: I'M BACK. I've only received 2 orders in the past month and a half. Boo. I'm slackin'. Both of those orders were from my beloved Granny's Kountry Candles. Oh how I love Wendy and her lovely scented goodies. I'm waiting on my Click N Ship from an order I placed on the 8th for Forget the Foil Friday. 45 cent scallop tarts WHAT WHAT! I loaded up on my favorites and ordered a few singles to test out a few new scents. I WILL be reviewing those when I get them. I'm also plotting orders for Aunt Smellman's and Grumpy Girl Candle and Bath Co. I'm also plotting HUGE orders because my 25th birthday is at the end of July and I'd like to make sure my lovely birthday presents from Hubby Face are here for my birthday. Not after. That's crazy talk. So anyways. I'm back. Thinking about a reboot. What do you think? Do you prefer daily, weekly wax melts or just reviews on individual scents? Anyone, anyone?

Patiently waiting

On Wednesday I received my UPS tracking info for my 2 Granny's Kountry Candles orders and the email says the box weighs 16 POUNDS!!! That's a shit load of wax. I'm so excited about this order. A few butterball candles and a shit load of clamshells.

I bought a candle warmer for the butterballs I'll be receiving on Monday. It's a Candle Hearth hot plate that I picked up for $5 at Walmart. That being said, I've picked up a few wax related items here and there.

When I bought my candle warmer I picked up 3 of the $1 mainstays glass jar votive candles in Wild Honeysuckle, Flower Bouquet and a tan colored one I can't remember the name of but it's got a cologney smells to it and I believe it had a branch of some sort on the label. I've also picked up a few clamshells from Walmart. One in Tranquil Garden Spa, because I saw it in a JDazzler15 video, and Pure White Woods. Both is which are Better Homes and Gardens brand and perfect bedroom scents. Also, I had the Tranquil Garden Spa going in my bedroom non stop for 2 days and it was still strong when I turned it off.

Today the Hubs and I went to a whole town garage and craft sale. I had my sights set on waxy finds and to my dismay I found only one booth. It was a local couple and they were offering one clamshell for $3 or two for $5. I bought 2 of course. I got one called Dream Catcher and one in Cool Water. I kind of had to leave it up to Hubs because I can smell NOTHING thanks to my allergies. Louisiana pollen is a bitch.

Anywho, look for my GKC review on Monday or Tuesday.

Until later,
Melissa

2 more Granny's Kountry Candles orders

I received my second GKC order last Friday and placed another on Saturday and yet another on Sunday.

The one I placed on Saturday was all Butterball jars because they are on sale. 4 were custom scents that I'll be giving as Christmas gifts and a few for myself. The custom scents are $5.25 for a 16 oz butterball jar and the single scents are $5.00.

Here's what I ordered...

For younger SIL -- Kinky Cougar and Harbor Lights (she picked this going through my last order scents)

For MIL -- Arkansas River and Laundry Day (I'm hoping this is strong as every room in here house is giant with high ceilings)

For older SIL -- Cotton Britches and Honeymoon Heat

For my mom -- Patchouli and Moonlit Path (because my mom is a hippy)

For myself I got 3 single scent candles in Pink Sugar, Pomegranate, and Moonlit Path.

That was my third order and the next day I placed my fourth, all of which are clamshells. I'm beginning to prefer clamshells because they are much easier to store. I don't have to worry about the scent disappearing because of a plastic bag or any of that mumbly jumbly. So here's what I ordered in clamshells.

Jellybean Bowl
Bubblegum Sucker
Pink Bubblegum
Bunny Burps
Wet T Shirt Contest
Juicy Strawberries
Lovespell
Honeymoon Heat ( I love this scent)
Dirty Mind (love this one too)
Dazed and Confused (for my mom)
"Fore" Play
French Lavender

I should be receiving these orders next weekend. Super excited, especially about how my gifts butterballs will have SO MUCH time to cure before my family gets them. Also I'll be doing my weekly melts later tonight. I've had and still have a stomach virus (the joys of working with young children) and I just haven't felt up to blogging.

Until later,
Melissa

Granny's Kountry Candles Haul 2 Part 2

Here goes the second part of my second order with Granny's Kountry Candles.

Let's go...

Fresh Bamboo - 3/5. My Grandma's house smelled like this. Very leafy. Green. Love it.

Pickin' Wildflowers - 3/5. I don't smell flowers at all. I don't like it at all.

Honeysuckle - 4/5. Yup. Dead ringer for the real thing. Reminds me of picking the flowers as a kid. A lovely floral.

Hydrangea - 2/5. Light pleasant floral. Don't think I've ever smelled an actual hydrangea.

Lavender and Patchouli - 3/5. I smell both scents equally. There's a bit of a VapoRub undertone.

Magnolia - 3/5. Very soft and lovely floral. I live in Louisiana so this smells like home. Not to mention the magnolia tree right outside my front door.

Moonlit Path - 3/5. Currently using this BBW shower gel and this is dead on. Love it. It's a very unique scent.

Pomegranate - 3/5. Very excited about this. I LOVE pomegranate and the one I got from Tart Candles by Kim was disappointing. This one is juicy and perfect.

Remember When... - 3/5. Like and eucalyptus. Reminds me of Jamaica. Hey, it made me remember something.

Ylang Ylang - 2/5. This tart broke on me. Very unique. Not sure how much I like it but I know my mom will love it.

Stormy Weather - 3/5. Smells like rain. Very aquatic. Love love love it.

Lemongrass and Kiwi - 4/5. Lemongrass first, kiwi on second sniff. A green clean spa scent.

Oceanfront Stroll - 3/5. Fruity and aquatic. Like watery melons. Very nice.

Magic Man - 4/5. Definitely magic. Juicy. Not very manly though and it doesn't make me think of a man.

Sandalwood - 3/5. Very light and powdery. It's a good sandalwood. My mom will love this one too.

Big Girl Panties - 2/5. Citrusy. Light. Not my favorite. It's just eh!

Country Berries and Melon - 3/5. More berries than anything. No melon on cold sniff. This one broke on me too. It was in the same bag as the Ylang Ylang and they may have been on the outside part of the box. But the now wasn't damaged and was packed perfectly.

Domestic Diva - 3/5. Powder and citrus. Not my favorite. Will be giving to my MIL.

Harbor Lights - 2/5. They was no scent description for this one. I just needed one more tart to make $25 and this sounded good. I don't regret it. It's cologney. I love it.

I clicked JDazzler15 as my consultant because her videos really pushed me towards this vendor. If you haven't yet, check out her YouTube channel. Also, keep an eye out for one or two new post because I places 2 more orders already. 1 today and 1 yesterday. Most of which are Christmas present because the butterballs are on sale. So if you also like candles around your home those precious butterball jars are $5 for a single scent and $5.25 for a created scent.

Until later,
Melissa

Granny's Kountry Candle haul 2 part 1

I received my second order from Granny's Kountry Candles on Friday. Way to end a week. Hubs texted me while I was at work to tell me it arrived, which I already knew because I was watching the UPS tracker. When I got home I ran past him to get to the package. I was a little excited. My order was pretty big, 38 different scents in 39 tarts. I'm going to break it down into two posts because, well, it's a lot of shit.

Here we go...

Fairy Whispers - 1/5. What I can smell is powder. That's about all. Hope is really is strong. Granny's rates it 5 stars on strength. It's very pleasant.

Honeymoon Heat - 2/5. Very floral. Definitely romantic. One of my favorites. The name implies something sexy and juicy not romantic.

Old Country Store - 3/5. Smells like the candle store I used to work in. Very vanilla cookie-y. Not a winner for me.

3 Sheets to the Wind - 2/5. Smells like clean sheets. Glad I accidentally ordered two of these. It could easily be a go to scent.

A Roll in the Hay - 4/5. I get Hawaiian Punch. Very summery. The name throws me off though. What hay?

Bite Me! - 4/5. Mixed berries. A very pleasant combination of berries at that.

Kinky Cougar - 3/5. First I get cherries. Juicy cherries you can almost taste. It's like Fruit Stripe gum. One of my favorites from this order.

Horsin' Around - 2/5. Caramel apple suckers. I don't really like it. Also, it's the color of horse poo.

Get Lei'd - 3/5. Musk is first. Then flowers. No melons on cold throw. I really like it and its a pretty orange color.

Attitude Adjustment - 3/5. What is neroli and does it smell like BO? I don't like this at all. Definitely adjusted my attitude and not in a good way.

Best Friends - 2/5. Strawberries on top. Don't smell the vanilla but that's ok. I don't care for vanilla much.

Frog Freckles - 2/5. It's a strange citrus smell. With a Christmasy cranberry smell.

Cotton Britches - 4/5. Might be my absolute favorite from this order. A very fabric softener scent. Very sunny.

Pig Poop - 4/5. Pigs eat fruit? I thought they ate slop. It's a very good fruity smell. Not juicy fruity but it is strong.

Mother's Love - 2/5. Smells like fresh scent baby wipes. Mothers probably have a love/hate relationship with baby wipes but I digress...

5:00 Somewhere - 3/5. Boozy. Like tequila. Starts like a pins colada. Jimmy Buffett fo sho.

Butterfly Kisses - 2/5. Smells like a granny. Very light and pleasant.

Cotton Candy - 2/5. Definitely cotton candy. Very light and pleasant.

Dirty Hippy - 3/5. This is what I would think Fillmore from the movie Cars would smell like. Patchouli and dirt.

That's it for this post. I don't want you to sit here all day reading this shit. If there are any scents you're really curious about let me know and I will do an in depth description of it. Look out for part 2 and my third order...coming soon.

Until Later,
Melissa

Week in Review 2/28-3/7

I'm a day late. Second week and I'm already forgetting to do this. My list won't be terribly long this week because I was out of town all weekend and my husband didn't change anything while I was gone. Also there no picture because I don't feel like taking a damn picture. Here's what I've melted this week.

Granny's Kountry Candles

Dirty Mind -- 1/2 cup in a 25 watt electric warmer. I love this one. It's my favorite from the order I do believe but I wasn't strong. I'm letting the rest of it cure a while longer. 2/5 for throw.

Green Apple -- 1/4 cup in a 25 watt electric warmer. A little disappointed in this. It's stronger in the cup. Letting it cure more as well. 1/5

Tickled Pink -- 1/4 in a tea light warmer. I smell the pink sugar and sweet pea separately which I like. The pink sugar is stronger. Love it. 3/5

Other

Orleans Candle Co Angel -- I love all the scents I have from this company. Always has an amazing throw and pleasant scent.

Kim's Tarts Love and Luck -- very strong and cologney. I loved it but had it in my kitchen and its not a kitchen scent. 3.5/5

Better Homes and Gardens Heirloom Magnolia Blossom -- love this too. Very floral and very strong. Had 1 cube in my bedroom warmer. 3/5.

That's all I've melted this week. Leading into other news, my second Granny's Kountry Candles order comes in tomorrow. I've been neurotically checking my UPS tracker for 2 days. I'm so excited. Also I picked up a tea light warmer for $3 dollars at Walmart today because I read soy melts and throws better from a tea light and ill be testing that theory.

Anywho, I'll be back tomorrow with my second Granny's cold throw review.

Until later,
Melissa

Mini Vacation Mini Haul

I literally just got home from Georgia. Two of my friends and I left on Friday night for our friend's little boy's first birthday party. She knew my 2 friends were coming but I was a surprise. We left this morning and I'm so happy to be home. I missed my husband big time. We've never been apart for more than a night. How sappy. Anyway, while I was there we stopped at Bath and Body Works. I don't have one very close to my house so I don't get to go very often. I got all excited when I saw the buy 2 get 2 sign out front.

Anywho, I ended up with 4 shower gels. 3 for me and 1 for the Hubs. I spent a long time sniffing shit. My nose became defective about 10 minutes in so I went with what I know I like. Here's what I got:

All of these are 10 fl oz Shea Enriched shower gels in Moonlight Path, Twilight Woods, And Country Chic. For my husband I got a 10 fl oz 2-in-1 Face and Body Wash in Ocean for men. Also, I went to Walmart and saw the new Febreze wax bars. They're not cubes so bar is the only thing I could call them. I sniffed quite a few and they all smelled amazing. I ended up buying the Mineral Springs scent and its amazing. I also bought a BH&G Heirloom Magnolia Blossom. I'm sure they'll both be on this week's meltdown, I'm sure. Anywho.

Later folks,
Melissa

Week in Review 2/20-27

Ok, let's see how we'll this weekly review goes. Maybe I can actually remember to do it. So here's what I've melted this week.

GKC Goofy Grape -- 1/4 cup on a 25 watt Electric warmer. I didn't let this cure, though I am letting the rest of the cup sit. It was still incredibly strong, I could smell it just sitting next to the warmer that hadn't been on all day. There is a funny story with this one. I was cleaning and knocked the plate off of the warmer. All the wax was melted and poured all down my arm. While it scared me, it didn't hurt a bit. I want to say Granny's is soy, correct me if I'm wrong. That being said all I had to do was wipe it off of my arm with a paper towel.
I like this scent and I'm excited to melt the rest of it.

GKC Bedtime Bath -- 1/4 of a cup on a 25 watt electric warmer. This one was in my bedroom because it seems like a perfect bedroom scent. I didn't give this one time to cure but it was still pleasant in its throw. Very powdery with an undertone of lavender. Kinda like baby's bedtime lotion. I love it.

TCBK Gain -- 1 tart in a 25 watt. I've reviewed this one before. It is very clean but not exactly Gain.

TCBK Lick Me All Over -- 1/2 in a plug in warmer. I love this scent. I had half if a tart in my bathroom and kept thinking I was smelling it in the living room (bathroom is off the hall off the living room). I knew I didn't turn the warmer on and asked my husband if he had. He said he did about an hour before. I was smelling that tart from a room away over 2 other warmers. I love this one.

Orleans Candles Chateau -- 2 cubes in a 25 watt electric warmer. Very ozony. I've reviewed it before. I love it.

Unknown Brand Caribbean Breeze -- handful of beads(?) in a 25 watt electric warmer. I found this at Walmart. The brand is Mary's something or other and such. It's sweet and strong. Not very tropical but I like it. The only bad thing is this wax is HARD and takes forever to to melt.

Wow obviously I haven't melted much this week. Next week will be better I promise. Maybe. I will be out of town for the weekend so I obviously won't be melting anything.

Until later,
Melissa

Another order...already...

I received my first Granny's Kountry Candles on Friday. The customer service and turnaround time were very impressive. Everything I ordered smelled fantastic and it was all very strong. I've been very pleased so far and I'm trying my hardest to allow them to cure. Since I was so impressed I decided to place another order on Saturday. The owner, Wendy I do believe, suggested ordering her soy shots. She sent me several with my order and they're huge. She suggested cutting them in half to melt. They're also a much more economical option as they cost .65 for one or $1 for two as compared to $1.49 for the simmering seedlings. I still spent the $25 to get free shipping which resulted in me getting 38 different scents, 39 tarts because I accidentally doubled up on one. I didn't reorder anything from my first order just because I had so many I wanted to try before I decided on any go-to scents. Now, onto what I ordered, it's a long list.

Fairy Whispers
Honeymoon Heat
Old Country Store
3 Sheets to the Wind x2
A Roll in the Hay
Bite Me!
Kinky Cougar
Horsin' Around
Get Lei'd
Attitude Adjustment
Best Friends
Frog Freckles
Cotton Britches
Pig Poop
Mother's Love
5:00 Somewhere
Butterfly Kisses
Cotton Candy
Dirty Hippy
Fresh Bamboo
Pickin' Wildflowers
Honeysuckle
Hydrangea
Lavender and Patchouli
Magnolia Blossom
Moonlit Path
Pomegranate
Remember When...
Ylang Ylang
Stormy Weather
Lemongrass and Kiwi
Oceanfront Stroll
Magic Man
Sandalwood
Big Girl Panties
Country Berries and Melons
Domestic Diva
Harbor Lights

Phew...quite a list. Also, I read recently that Granny's quality is higher in the clean scents which is great for me as I can't start bakery scents.

Anywho, I'm going to begin doing weekly wax melts, hopefully on Wednesday and will no longer be doing a daily melts as I don't always change my wax daily.

Until later,
Melissa

Granny's Kountry Candles cold throw review

My order from Granny's Kountry Candles came in yesterday. I wasn't home when it came and the weather was looking dicey. When we finally got home I ran up the stairs to our house and snatched up the package. I ran into the house and was slicing it open before my husband even walked in the door. I was throwing packing peanuts at him as he walked in. This time remembered to take a picture of my order. Anywho, lets get on to the reviews.

Bedtime Bath -- it's strong. Lavender and powder. Very relaxing. 4/5 for cold throw.

Booty Call -- perfumey. Romantic. One of my favorites. Like a unisex body spray. 3/5

Cowgirl Up! -- Overly fruity and not in a good way. Too sweet but strong. 4.5/5

Goofy Grape -- spot on grape Popsicle. Very sweet. You can almost taste it. 3/5

Green Apple -- Sour sweet. Smells exactly like a Jolly Rancher. 4/5

Headache Relief -- Eucalyptus. Very much a spa scent. Hope it works. 3.5/5

Hot Baked Apple Pie -- kinda smells like one of those caramel apple lollipops. I don't get pie though. Hubs liked it. 3/5

Sinus Relief -- Vick's VapoRub. I do believe it would work. 3/5

Dirty Mind -- Smells like dirt and leather. The name fits it. 2/5

Stress Relief -- lavender and eucalyptus. Very relaxing and tingly (?) 3.5/5

Arkansas River -- Very aquatic. Kind of soapy. My favorite from this order. Melting a piece already. 3/5

Bushel Basket -- Springy and fruity. I think I'm gonna hold on to this for prettier weather. 2.5/5

Fireflies & Fairies -- Floral and powdery. Powder being the top note. Very pleasant. 3/5

Head in the Clouds -- Florals and laundry detergent. Very clean and sunny smelling. 3.5/5

Love Story -- Fruity and floral. I get apples. Little sister said this was her favorite. Perfect spring scent. 2.5/5

Old Fart -- smells like old people. Bengay and hard candy. 3/5

English Ivy -- green and sophisticated. Nice but I wouldn't purchase it. 4/5

Clothesline Fresh -- smells like Barnes and Noble. I don't really get a laundry scent. 3/5

Coastal Breeze -- Exotic fruits. Not really breezy. 3/5

Brain Fart -- Sweet fruits. It's a lot of mixed fruit. 3/5.

That was my fantastic order. The last four, English Ivy, Clothesline Fresh, Coastal Breeze, Brain Fart and another Tickled Pink were all in very large scallop tarts and were sent as free samples. And they're huge. All of them were great samples and something I probably would have ordered on my own. The rest of my order was definitely taken into account when the samples were sent. I'm gonna try and let them cure a little before I start melting. Hopefully I have the patience.

Until then,
Melissa

Anxiously Awaiting

Yesterday I emailed Granny's Kountry Candles to check on the status of my order, because I'm anxious to receive it and running low on my Kim's Tarts order. The owner so kindly emailed me back and said my order was poured and packed. Yesterday evening I received my UPS tracking information. The tracking info said I should be receiving my package tomorrow. So I've been anxiously refreshing the UPS page all day. I'll be posting tomorrow when I receive my package. Melissa

Granny's Kountry Candles order

I placed my second order with my second vendor yesterday. I had to hide this one from my husband because he claims I have a "problem" and that I can't "control myself". Whatever those things mean. He also told me I should wait until I'm out of my Tart Candles by Kim wax to place another order. Oh well. He doesn't complain when I melt so I don't care.

I ordered 17 "simmering seedlings" which are 2 oz scent shots. With Granny's you get free shipping when you spend $25 and her scent shots are $1.49 a piece. Here's what I ordered...

Bedtime Bath
Booty Call
Cowgirl Up!
Goofy Grape
Green Apple
Headache Relief (I'm hoping this works)
Hot Baked Apple Pie (my husband requested this one)
Sinus Relief (I could use one now)
Stress Relief
Dirty Mind (I only ordered it for the name)
Arkansas River
Bushel Basket
Fireflies & Fairies
Head in the Clouds
Love Story
Old Fart
Tickled Pink

That's my order. I'm excited about this one. I'm also plotting my next orders which will be Haley's Heavenly Scents and CFTKR. Granny's turn around time is about 7-10 business days so I should receive it about the same time frame I received my TCBK order. And this time I wont forget to post a picture of my haul. Later folks, Melissa

What's in your warmer? 2/9/13

Its been quite a lazy day in Ny neck of the woods. I told myself when I woke up this morning thati was going to clean my house and take down my Christmas tree. Yes…its February and my Christmas tree is still standing tall and decorated. There is a reason for that though. My ornament boxes are in the attic and we don't have your typical attic that has fold down stairs. You have to have a ladder to get up there and we do not have a ladder. And so the tree stands. You don't give a shit about that, do you? Lets get on to what's in my warmers today. Living room -- TCBK Stormwatch. I gave this one a 3/5 on cold throw but it gets a 5/5 for warm throw. It was amazing and it smelled like the air before a big storm. It has been one of my favorites so far. Definitely a repurchase. Dining room -- TCBK Mid Summer Nights. I don't think ive ever smelled the original of this but I really enjoyed this one. It was pretty powerful. I may or may not repurchase this one. I'm not sure yet. Kitchen -- TCBK Key Lime Pie. This was one of the sample.tarts that Kim sent me with my order. My husband and I agreed that it had a vomit like smell to it unless you were standing directly over the warmer. Then and only then could you smell lime. I dumped this out as.soon as it melted all the way down. Bathroom -- half of a tart of TCBK Lick Me All Over. I said in my cold throw review that it smelled like Big League Chew bubble gum and it still smells this way warm but a lot more fruit comes out. The half a tart filled my entire bathroom and lingered all day. I love this one. Bedroom -- TCBK Southern Man. I turned on the warmer about an hour and a hoar before bed and I never smelled anything. I think I'm going to let the other two tarts cure for about a week before I try to warm them again. Also I placed my second order with my second vendor today. But that's a whole bother post folks. What's in your warmers tonight? Melissa

What's in you warmer? 2/8/13

I just received my order from Tart Candles by Kim on Wednesday and I've already started to to make a dent in it. When I brought my mom the tarts I bought for her she picked through the rest and took a few of the ones she really liked. Which I was fine with because, if you don't know? When you order from Kim you receive 3 tarts for $1.50. How fabulous is that? My husband and I have already picked a few of our favorites and blacklisted a few scents. Anywho, onto what's in my warmers today. All are from Tart Candles by Kim so I'll only list the scents.

Living room -- Fruit Loops and that is exactly what this smells like and boy was it strong. I put it in the warmer yesterday and it was still incredibly strong when I came home from work this evening. My husband has already declared this as his favorite. It will definitely be a repurchase.

Kitchen -- Butterfly Hugs. Fruity and floral and light. I've declared this as my favorite. It was so feminine and not quite a kitchen scent. I see this as a definite bedroom scent. Repurchase for sure.

Dining room -- Gain. I said in my cold throw review that this wasn't spot on and it's still not warm. Close but not exact. But it is strong. At times I could smell it over the Fruit Loops in the living room. An amazing clean scent. Possible repurchase.

Bathroom -- Pomegranate. This scent has been blacklisted. The spicy note I detected in the cold throw is even stronger when it's warmed. It was terrible. And strong. I'm sure if you like bakery scents it would be ok but I was looking for a fruity pomegranate and I'm honestly disappointed that this isn't as fruity as I hoped. Will not repurchase.

Bedroom -- Twilight Woods. I turned this warmer on about an hour before we went to bed. It was very pleasant. And I do believe it made me sleep better. Woodsy and floral. It's a good bedroom scent.

Side note: I left Kim a note on Facebook about my Macintosh Apple tarts not being in my package. Her response was fabulous. She'll be sending the Macintosh Apple, the two I ordered that she didn't have the oil for, Love and Luck and Nag Champa, as well as an extra scent for the inconvenience. I call this amazing customer service. I was very impressed by thousand very thankful. I'm currently planning my second order. I'm also looking for another highly recommended vendor to try as well. Any suggestions? What's in your warmer tonight?

Tart Candles by Kim haul

I received my very first tart vendor order today. I was so very excited about it. I kept hitting refresh on the Click N Ship tracker thingy. All while neurotically looking out the sliding glass door for the mail lady. When she did come I ran downstairs to get my package and call the dogs off. She asked why the box smelled so good. I told her what was in it while running up the stairs. I only had about 20 until I had to leave for work. I wasn't even all the way in the door before I was ripping the box apart. I didn't even notice until after I checked everything out that the box was damaged in transit. The tarts were fine so no worries there. My unboxing video was filmed in a hurry and I ran off to work with visions of waxiness danced in my heads. And lingered on my hands. My husband texted me while I was at work to tell me that he had smelled everything and he liked them.

Any damn way...here goes my cold throw reviews...

Dragon's Blood -- it's very heady, like being in a head shop. It reminded me of the cab we took when we were in Jamaica in June. It had Bob Marley playing on repeat. This one is for my mom. 4/5 strength for cold throw.

Patchouli -- smells like incense. Reminds me of hippies. It's not exactly like the patchouli my mom used to burn when I was little but it's close. This one is for my mom too. 4/5 for cold throw.

Nag Champa -- Kim left me a note on my invoice that she was waiting on the oil for this so I'll have it next week.

Gain -- not spot on but close. Very soapy, very clean. 3/5

Pomegranate -- through the bag this smells perfect, inside the bag there is something spicy that I hope goes away when I melt it. 4/5

Heavenly -- VS Dream Angels dupe. I don't think I've smelled the original but I get the rose and jasmine. It's very nice, soft and perfumey. 3/5

Mid Summer Nights -- clean, soapy, masculine. I REALLY like this one. 4/5

Twilight Woods -- I'm so glad I accidentally double ordered this one. I love this. I smell the cypress and something floral. Not incredibly strong. A good bedroom scent. 2/5

Shampure Aveda -- I didn't know what to expect with this. All I get is licorice and I don't like it. 4/5 for throw. Though ill probably give this one away.

Montego Bay -- initial smell is earthy, like dirt. Then I get an incense type smell. It's pleasant. 3/5

High Maintenance -- hope it lives up to how strong it's supposed to be because I really like this one. It's fun, fruity and floral. 2/5 cold.

Stormwatch -- rain, definitely. And oceans. Smells like salt water. 3/5

Lick Me All Over -- I smell this in my lap. It smells like Big League Chew. I'm sure the other fruits will come out when warmed. 5/5 very strong.

Pink Sands -- had a Yankee votive on hand. YC smell more like sunscreen. This one is more musky. I prefer this one to the YC one. 4/5

Butterfly Hugs -- I actually almost didn't get this one. I'm glad I did. I think it's my favorite. So floral and sweet. 4/5

Chanel No 5 -- never smelled the original. Very powdery and definitely perfumey. Strong but smells like a fashionable granny. 4/5

Southern Man -- very masculine, a little citrusy. Rugged. I think it's my second favorite. Hope it's stronger when it melts. 3/5

Fruit Loops -- this was my last minute add which I don't regret. Orange and lemon and cereal are on top. My husband texted me at work and told me he ate them all. He approved. 4/5

Abercrombie Fierce -- the scent description is spot on. A more masculine scent. Love it. 4/5.

Kim also left me a note that my Love&Luck would be here next week as well. I'm excited about that and the Nag Champa. Other than that my order for Macintosh Apple was missing buy I did let Kim know on Facebook. She was kind enough though to include 5 sample tarts. Which was fabulous. And unexpected.

Key Lime Pie -- Kim was kind enough to send me 2 tarts in this scent. It's not something I'd purchase on my own. It's nice and I'll surely melt it. I may not repurchase. It was very distinct lime and pie notes. 3/5

Sugar Corn Pudding -- I hate food scents. This is king of nutty and bready. If I melt it I will put it in the kitchen. 3/5

Eternity -- this was actually on the list for my next order. Not overly perfumey. I get lemongrass maybe? 3/5

Pink Sugar -- I love this! I see what the hype is about. Almost like a birds of paradise type scent. 3/5

That's what I got! Yay. I was so happy it came and I'll be placing another order on Friday. Possibly with Kim but I'm plotting orders for other vendors. Haley's Heavenly Scents maybe. Or Granny's Kountey Candles.

Do you like clean scents? If so, what is your favorite? Who is your go-to vendor? What vendor do you know of that has a deal going on now? Any other advice? Let me know what you think of my order and reviews. Unboxing video should be up tomorrow. Do NOT quote me on that though. I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow and that usually ruins my day. Plus I have to work. Blah. Have a good night folks.

What's in your warmer? 2/5/13

I finally switch all my melters out when I got home from work. Everything had been in there for a while so they weren't as strong. My Tart Candles by Kim order will or should be here tomorrow according to my Click N Ship email. I'm so excited. I'm really hoping it gets here in time for me to do an unboxing video before I have to leave for work. Otherwise it will be a cold throw video because I won't be able to control myself.

Anyway, on to what's in my warmers.

Living room -- 2 cubes Scentsy Lotus Cove. As we know this is my go to bedroom scent. I LOVE this scent. It is so soft and comforting.

Kitchen -- my last 2 cubes of BH&G Sugared Melon Kiwi. Super sweet and super fun. I needed a springy pick me up today. I thought they had stopped selling this but our new Super Walmart finally opened and they had the spring scents out and this one was included. Also, we will have a Better Homes and Gardens haul soon because the spring and summer stuff is amazing.

Dining Room -- 2 cubes Scentsy Blueberry Cheesecake. Oh my goodness. Gag. My husband requested this. It is so strong. It's all I can smell and my living/kitchen/dining room is technically one room and the melters are less than 5 feet apart. Anywho. It stinks. I hate bakery scents. Luckily the blueberry is stronger than the cheesecake.

Bathroom -- my last cube of Scentsy Sunlit Morning. Which as far as I know is discontinued. And that makes me sad. I love this scent. It's a laundry scent that is unlike any other. Very sunny smelling.

Both bedrooms -- 2 cubes BH&G Soft Cashmere Amber. My second favorite bedroom scent. I put my last two cubes in my master bedroom. I was on a stash cleaning mission tonight to prepare for my package tomorrow. Even though I plan to replace this and the Sugared Melon Kiwi.

Keep an eye out tomorrow or the next day for my written and video reviews.

I'm so excited to get this order. Later folks.

Tart Candles by Kim

First let me say I AM NOT affiliated with ANY vendors. These are all for my personal use in my home and for use in converting family and friends from candle lovers to tart lovers.

That being said I placed my first large wax order on Saturday the 26th and I'm very anxiously awaiting its arrival. Anxious is an understatement, I'm checking the mail a few times a day.

After spending a few hours on Kim's site, www.tartcandlesbykim.com, I put together a LONG list of scents I wanted. I love that she has them in categories, as I tend to overlook bakery and food type scents and categories makes that easy. When I placed my order the page was advertising free shipping for orders over 30 dollars. If you've never been to this site, every scent you order is sent in a pack of 3 approx. 1 oz scallop tarts. All for $1.50. That's .50 a tart! How awesome is that? I broke my long list down into 3 separate orders of 21 scents. That's 63 tarts for 33 dollars, all with no shipping.

All of that being said, here's what I ordered. I'll be doing a video when they get here.

Dragon's Blood (for my mom)
Patchouli (for my mom)
Nag Champa (for my mom)
Gain
Macintosh Apple
Pomegranate
Heavenly (VS Dream Angels dupe)
Mid Summer Nights (Yankee? dupe)
Twilight Woods (bbw dupe)
Shampure Aveda
Montego Bay
High Maintenance
Stormwatch
Lick Me All Over
Fierce (Abercrombie dupe)
Love & Luck (Ed Hardy dupe)
Pink Sands (Yankee dupe)
Butterfly Hugs
Chanel No 5 (dupe)
Southern Man (Tim McGraw dupe)
Fruit Loops

Woooo what an order!!! I'm so so so excited to get this and start melting it. As you can see a few were ordered for my mom who I converted from an incense burner to a wax melter over Christmas, so I ordered her some classic incense scents that I know she will love. Some of the cologne/ perfume dupes are gonna be split with my little sister. She's 16 and loves her wax melter. I taught her well.

Anywho keep an eye out for my unboxing video. And a written cold throw review.

Day in Review 2/2/13

It's been so long since I've done a day in review. I'm honestly considering doing a week in review instead. Not sure yet. I don't change my scents VERY often, so most days are the same. So what about today? ONWARD!!!!

Living room -- 2 cubes Better Homes and Garden Enchanted Evening Walk. This is a STRONG scent. I'm torn on whether I like this one or not. It's very spicy and that's what I don't like. The two cubes I have in there were my last 2. I don't think I'll be repurchasing this.

Kitchen -- 2 cubes Scentsy Clean Breeze. I've been hoarding this one from my very first Scentsy purchase. When I opened the clamshell there was a layer of oil on top of the wax. I'm not impressed by this one. It's a nice, clean scent but its like every other clean scent out there.

Dining Room -- 2 cubes Orleans Angel. I love all of my Orleans waxes. If you've read my other posts then you already know that. They are amazing estate scents. And I live in Louisiana so I have a connection with New Orleans. (It's less than an hour away)

Bathroom -- 1 cube ScentSationals Sweet Pea. And it's my last cube of that scent. I'm glad Sweet Pea is pretty easy to find. It's definitely a go-to bathroom scent.

Sister's bedroom -- still has 1 cube of Better Homes and Garden's Soft Cashmere Amber. I love this one. When little sister spends the night she has her melter cranked all the way up the whole time she's here. I've converted her.

Master bedroom -- 2 cubes Scentsy Lotus Cove. Yep it's still there. And it's the same 2 cubes. No joke.

Be on the look out for my first video as soon as my Tart Candles by Kim order comes in. I'm excited!!!

Melissa

Sorry, sorry folks

I've been absent for quite a while because, well, technology hates me. My laptop ka-puted, my Kindle Fire has seizures when I try to pull up my Blogger account, and honestly, I'm pretty damn lazy.

Regardless of all that hullabaloo, I have been melting, researching, and did a little ordering. I have pulled together a long list of vendors and scoured their sites to see if I would be interested in ordering. What have a learned in my research? I'm part of the minority in the wax community. I CANNOT stand bakery scents. If you've read ANY of my other posts then you already know that.

Anywho, I placed an order with Tart Candles by Kim last Saturday and I'm anxiously awaiting that package. It was a pretty sizable order too. That'll be another post.

Alright folks. Typing this on my iPhone isn't doing anything for me. But I'm back and I'm very happy with the page views I've had. Keep it coming folks.

Melissa.
