Happy New Year's Eve all. I've been behind for a few days because I've been sick and dealing with a sick husband. All of my melter a have been on full blast all day.
Living room -- 2 cubes Orleans Candles Chateau. The website listed this as an Ozonic scent and now I see what this means. It's a very airy scent with an antique scent to it. I really like this one. The cold throw isn't great but it has a great warm throw. I've actually been melting the same 2 cubes for two day.
Kitchen -- 2 cubes Scentsationals Lemongrass Verbena. I love this one too. It has a lemony undertone which goes great in the kitchen but its still a clean rather than food type smell.
Dining room -- 2 cubes Scentsationals Woodland Magic. This is a VERY STRONG scent. It's the first thing I smell upon entering the house and we enter in the living room.
Bathroom -- 1 cube Better Homes and Gardens Sugared Melon Kiwi. I actually haven't changed this in a few days so its not as strong as it was but that one cube packs a punch and lasted a few days. One of my favorites.
Sister's bedroom -- 1 cube Better Homes and Gardens Soft Cashmere Amber. Another of my favorites. Not a powerful cold throw but warm throw is amazing. It's a very cozy warm scent. With a sweet undertone. I don't think they sell this one anymore which makes me sad.
Master Bedroom -- 2(new) cubes Scebtsy Lotus Cove. Still my favorite bedroom scent. Very romantic scent.
Hope you all have a safe and wonderful New Year's Eve.

A tad bit upset...
I was concerned that my confirmation email from Haley's hadn't arrived yet. I was sure I'd get something even so close to Christmas. Today, I decided to check the transaction history on my debit card just to make sure it was taken out of the account. Well, it wasn't. That's what I get for placing online orders at like 2 in the morning. While, I am upset about it, I'm looking at the bright side that I can now tweak the parts of the orders I wasn't completely happy with. By taking out the assortment packs, I've decided to do individual scent shots so that I have a little more control over what I'm getting. I'm narrowing down my list now and hope to place my order tonight.
Also, I won't be doing a daily burn today because I have the same things melting today that I did yesterday.
Anywho,
Melissa

Day in Review 12/25/12
I didn't melt anything yesterday because we were at my parents' all day and my in-laws' all night. Also, I haven't melted much today because we've been busy unwrapping presents and stuffing our faces all day. However I did get some waxy gifts from my husband and sister in law. Hubs got me the four Orleans Candles waxes I mentioned in a previous post. My sister in law got me the Whoot Scentsy burner for my kitchen, which was the only room that did not have its own melter. I absolutely love this melter. It is adorable. It's a white porcelain owl that glows when it's turned on and it fits perfectly with all the owl decor in my kitchen. With the melter I received Scentsy's Peppermint Dreams which is very light and minty. Perfect winter scent.
Anyway, onto what I'm burning now.
Living room -- Orleans Candles Orleans No. 9 which is listed on their website as an exotic floral, I believe. I loved this scent in the store and I believe it is their hallmark scent. It has the comforting homey scent of a grandma's house without smelling like mothballs and ointment. It has an AMAZING cold throw. Beautiful and intoxicating. Warm, eh. The first half hour or so as it melted was magical, but the staying power isn't there. Even with 2 cubes. I still love this scent so I would recommend it.
Bathroom -- 1 cube Better Homes and Gardens Sugared Melon Kiwi and boy does that one cube pack a punch. My bathroom is about 10 square feet, if that and this scent flows out into the hall and on to the entry way even with the doors closed. It's sweet but not sickeningly sweet. Very upbeat. I definitely love this one but I do believe BH&G discontinued it. I hope I'm mistaken on this.
I still have the Scentsy Lotus Cove melting in my bedrooms but I haven't turned them on today. I intend to leave these in there, possibly only changing the one in my little sister's room when she comes over, but she likes the Lotus Cove too so it may be here to stay, which means I need to order some more.
This post has been much longer than I expected. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that you all remembered the reason for the season.
Ta ta for now,
Melissa

Day in Review 12/23/12
I do believe my husband is as wax addicted as I am. When I woke up this morning all of our warmers were in full swing. Even with the waxes from yesterday going strong. I just poured out last nights Mountain Cabin Escape because the cinnamon was too much for me.
Living room -- Better Homes and Gardens Under the Mistletoe. Very Christmas-y, a perfect mix of evergreen tree and candy cane. The pine is definitely the more powerful scent with a sweet bottom note.
Bedrooms -- Scentsy Lotus Cove is still going strong. I usually only turn these on about an hour before bed so they don't get over used and therefore last longer. I still love this one.
Sidenote -- My dad asked me to help shop for his gift for my mom yesterday and I'm proud to say she will be getting her first melter in an adorable basket weave motif and 2 of her favorite Orleans Candles scents. My mom is probably the base of my scent obsession. I can't recall a time she didn't have a candle or incense going.
What are you melting to get into the Christmas spirit?

Orleans Candles
My husband knows me well. He knows and encourages my wax burning habit. So for Christmas he bought me 4 clamshells from a local candle company and I'm madly in love with all four of these scents. The company is Orleans Candles and while they don't have a ton of scents, they do have something for everyone. The four that he got me are Orleans No. 9, which I think is their leading scent. He also got me Angel, Chateau, and Fine Linens.
Orleans No. 9 on cold throw smells like a grandma's house. Not moth balls and Bengay but the crisp, musky, antique type of smell. It's very heady and very strong. The website lists this and Angel as an Exotic Floral scent. It lists Chateau and Fine Linens as Ozonic, which I could see, they are both very crisp and clean.
Being from Louisiana these are all scents that I'm familiar with. Very homey.
I'll do a review when I burn them but they're wrapped under the tree for now. I guess I'll just have to wait.

Day in Review 12/22/12
It's been a busy day around here. I didn't turn my burners on until this evening and then I only turned on the living room and my bedroom.
Living room -- started with 1 cube of Scentsy Blueberry Cheesecake, which was given to me as a gift from one of my preschooler's mother. She definitely knew the way to my heart. I DO NOT like food scents but when I first took a whiff of this one I got more blueberry than cheesecake, when I burned it it was WAY too sweet so I poured it back into the clamshell after it melted. Hubby liked it so it may get used from time to time for his sake. But probably not.
After pouring the Blueberry Cheesecake out I put in 1 cube of Better Homes and Gardens Cabin in the Woods. While this is a very strong and earthy scent it has a middle-under tone of cinnamon, which I cannot stand. This wax also does not have very much staying power. 3-4 hours maybe, but it has a nice throw.
I still haven't received a confirmation from HHS for my order confirmation but I'm not really stressing with it being this close to Christmas. The money was taken from my account so that is quite enough for me as of now.
Hope you are all having a blessed holiday season.

Wax Porn
This is what is left of my stash and a look at what Easter baskets get used for after Easter. I had to clean it out the other night because my husband has a bad habit of pouring spent wax back into the clamshell. A few of these I'm hoarding because they were discontinued. I'm reevaluating my storage options because when my Haley's order gets here the Easter basket isn't going to be enough. I'm thinking about using a shelf on my bookshelf because the bookshelf is a husband free zone.

Haley's Heavenly Scents Order
Last night I placed my first Haley's Heavenly Scents order. It took 2 days for me to narrow the list down to what I REALLY wanted. That shit was hard but I made it. One of the thing I love about Haley's (Janet) is that if you order $25 you get FREE SHIPPING aaannnndddd 2 free six packs of scallop tarts aaaannndddd you get to choose the scents of those scallop tarts. That's a lot of bang for your buck. I ended up ordering 2 sampler packs that mostly covered my list and a few single scent shots that I didn't think would be included in the sampler packs. Here is my list of what I ordered...
Clean Scents Sampler Pack
Florals Sampler Pack
Jelly Beans
Twilight in the Woods
Madam President
Battle of the Sexes
Sinus Relief (which we could use now)
Mid Summer's Night
Mountain Dew
Moonlight Path
For my 2 six packs I asked for Dream Angels and Gain Original.
Everything I ordered was a scent shot, a 2 oz round cup, I use these same cups to make jello shots. I plan to cut them into thirds because the rooms in my house are so small and I have so many burners. If you can't tell from the list, I love clean, fresh scents. Bakery scents are not my style, while they are stronger, I just don't like my house to smell like food.
I'll be making a video when I receive this order. I placed it last night and TAT is 3-4 weeks. I will be opening the package and doing a cold throw review.
I'm currently plotting orders for a few other vendors. I'm sure I'll post my thoughts as I make the long ass lists of scents I want.

Day in Review
Here's a look at what I'm burning today...
Living room -- 2 cubes of Scent Sationals Woodland Magic that I picked up at Hobby Lobby in a 25 watt BH&G warmer. I described it to my husband as "woody Fruity Pebbles". It's a very heavy scent. Very nice.
Hall -- 1 cube of Better Homes and Garden Fresh Frasier Fir in a plug in warmer. I hoarded these from last Christmas because it is a dead on Christmas tree scent and great for houses with fake trees that want the real scent. I'm glad I hoarded it because they didn't have it this year at Walmart.
Bedrooms -- Scentsy Lotus Cove one in a 25 watt BH&G and one in a three setting oil burner. I LOVE this scent. Very much a bedroom scent. It's light and floral and a little sweet. My husband actually picked this one out for me and got a big thumbs up for it.
I have one burner that I haven't been using because I have too many burners and not enough places to put them. It's the Scentsy Piece by Piece burner from Autism Speaks. I love it.

The first step is admission...
Hi all,
My name is Melissa and I'm addicted to scented wax. It all started with a management/ sales position at a small, locally owned hand poured candle store. Until a few days ago I had contained my addiction to only Scentsy, which proved to be a more costly addiction than I had hoped for, and Better Homes and Gardens and Scent Sationals from Walmart. This was all until I discovered the tart. Boy are we in for it now.
While trying to find a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law I was distracted in Bed Bath and Beyond by the Yankee Candle display, as usual. With the amount of times this has happened to me I am amazed that I've never noticed the tarts before and if I did I never thought about throwing them in one of the 5 wax melters in my 500 square foot home. So after purchasing Fluffy Towels and Meadow Showers for my MIL I decided to search the vast reaches of the internet to see if other people shared this addiction with me. To my surprise there was a whole network of people who shared this obsession with me. I'm not the only one whose husband has to drag her kicking and screaming from the candle section of a store. I'm not the only one who gets giddy when they see a Scentsy booth at a fair or festival. I was not alone.
After making this discovery I started looking into vendors. People who make and sell wax meant for wax burners. I was slightly overwhelmed and baffled that I had not looked into this before. I found several sites and began looking through scent descriptions and began to get very excited. Then I started making lists. Shit gets serious when I start making lists. Last night I finally placed my first order.
I decided to start with Haley's Heavenly Scents. The majority of the reviews I had read were very positive and the prices are AMAZING. I'll make another post about my order after I finish this post. I also found several other sites and have began making lists for these sites as well.
I plan to do a day in review with what I've burned that day and what I think of the scent. As well as videos when I receive orders. I will be opening my packages and doing initial cold throw reviews in these videos, which will probably be pretty long if all of my orders are as large as my first one was.
Anywho, thanks for reading, hope you enjoy.
